Yoga Nidra 03 - The Practise of Deep RelaxationYoga Nidra is based on the practices of Nyasa, which belong to the system of Tantra. Yoga means union or one-pointed awareness, Nidra translates as sleep. Yoga Nidra is a state of deep relaxation with inner awareness. In yoga Nidra, the state of deep relaxation is reached by turning inwards, away from outer experiences. The mind and mental awareness are dissociated from the sensory channels. Yoga Nidra is thus a vital part of the cleansing process that is yoga.We will explore this versatile and practical technique through practice and theory.
