Yoga Nidra - The Blissfull RelaxationA day workshop to explore one of the most loved and important practices in yoga.Yoga nidra is a system of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. It produces a state of restful awareness in which the mind is awake and expanded and the body deeply resting as in sleep – a state of sleepless state. The state of deep relaxation is reached by turning inwards, away from outer experiences. The mind and mental awareness are dissociated from the sensory channels, releasing accumulated tensions that build up over hours, days, week, months and years. During the practice one appears to be asleep, but the consciousnesss is functioning at a deeper level. Yoga Nidra™ was devised by Swami Satyananda Saraswati from traditional Tantric practices. It is a pratyahara technique in which the distractions of the mind are contained and the mind is allowed to relax. This practice has had a profound transformative effect on practitioners. Regular practice can create and maintain inner strength and bring health and harmony to mind, body and spirit. This workshop is suitable for students and teachers alike. Newcomers to the practice or to Yoga are welcome.
