Womens Mini-Retreat 2017

Honouring the Feminine Way

Photo of PoornamEveryone has feminine and masculine qualities that define who they are. Your masculine side gets expressed when you’re working toward a goal, making progress, getting things done, and pushing forward. Your feminine side gets expressed when you move with the flow of life, embrace your creative energy, dance and attune to your internal process.

There is a healing force, growing and wanting to be known. It is the energy of the Feminine. In this weekend retreat we will connect with and explore this energy through the many yoga practices that offer women greater access to the knowing power of the feminine.
We will work with maintaining the health of the pelvis and abdomen, and bring an understanding of the natural intelligence of the body and connection to inner guidance.

This retreat is for women of all ages and provides an opportunity to nourish yourself physically, emotionally and energetically.

Asana: A stimulating yet gentle and nurturing asana class, using postures to bring balance to the endocrine system and the body as a whole.

Pranayama: A selection of breath practices to positively affect the physical and energetic body, as well as impact upon the emotions and mind.

Meditation: Using meditation techniques which bring one closer to our essential stillness, we introduce practices to help recognise thought patterns, as well as develop the useful skill of awareness.

Mudra & Bandas: Techniques to direct and affect the prana (energy/life force) within the physical body.

Restorative Yoga: Nurturing postures to bring the body back into harmony - time to touch upon stillness and reflect upon one’s own needs. Deeply restful practices that can be safely and easily adapted in the home.

Yoga Nidra: Through the deep relaxation of Yoga Nidra one is able to be in touch with the deeper inner self, let go of Samskaras (mental impressions) and positively affect one’s life with the use of Sankalpa (intention/resolve).

Presenters Poornam is a warm, sensitive, and very experienced teacher with a commitment to empowering her students to find their full potential. Her teaching is direct and deceptively simple. Her approach is energetic, humorous and compassionate. Her style is to softly guide, hold and challenge. Poornam supports students to follow the voice of their body and to fully connect with their sense of knowing.
