What do I do?
I am a Yoga Teacher who has also worked as a Naturopath and Herbalist.
Nearly all of my work involves teaching - finding out where a person is
and helping them build a bridge to where they need to go using the
building blocks of yoga. This is done through WORKSHOPS, classes and
lectures supported by BOOKLETS and CD's. They are grouped together by
various topics reflecting my own areas of expertise (see the icons at the
left).
My Yogic knowledge has been gained from living in Ashrams in Australia
and India and teaching for over 20 years in Australia and Europe. The
system used is Satyananda Yoga - an integrated approach that includes
practices for body and mind, using a gentle and meditative approach. So
it is safe for the unwell and disabled as well as for the more fit and
able.
I am a member of the Satyananda Yoga Teachers Association and
affiliated with the Satyananda Yoga Academy. All workshops are approved by
the British Wheel of Yoga, and are available as In-Service Training days
for Yoga Teachers who wish to further their knowledge.
The Satyananda system has a strong spiritual aspect. Spirit is an experience,
not a belief. People of all races, religions and ability can find ways
to manage their health of body and mind and become increasingly aware
of their spiritual nature.
I present the practices in an informative and fun way. We undertake to
do our Yoga joyfully.
Where do I do it?
I travel from place to place giving classes, lectures, 1/2 day or one
day workshops and weekend retreats. If I am teaching in your area it is
also possible to have a consultation and individual tuition. I travel
mostly in Australia, but also visit Europe from time to time. I have been
known to stop over on the way!
Please e-mail me at
bhaktip@satyananda.net
to find out when I'll be in your area.
Why do I do it?
Because I love it! We all need to do what we love to do, so I feel very
privileged to be able to do this work!
