An Introduction to Yoga

Introducing a series of yoga practices for regaining and maintaining health.

This year we are holding one morning of yoga each term aimed specifically at people who have not practiced yoga before and are not able to attend a regular class but who would benefit from an introduction to practices that they can use daily. For maximum accessibility they will be held on Saturday mornings and offered free of charge.

Yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation will be introduced.

The posture series consists of gentle movements effectively freeing joints and muscles from stiffness and harmonising the activity of all the systems of the body. The breathing exercises develop an awareness of the natural breath and the relaxation practice “Yoga Nidra” is often the favourite practice of yoga students.

Presenter:
Poornam a Satyananda trained and fully qualified yoga teacher with 10 years teaching experience.
